Adults Beginner Aerial Silks (16+) — 4-Week Intro at Ape Escape

Build strength, confidence, and beautiful lines in a supportive, beginner-friendly class taught by Dr. Nicole Crisp. Nicole is an experienced aerial performer and coach with a PhD in Exercise Physiology. She has an extensive physical background with 15+ years in Gymnastics and Sports Aerobics. Since 2016 she’s trained and taught across aerial disciplines at Kinetica (Malaga, WA)—covering silks (her specialty), lyra, trapeze, as well as ground-based handstands and tumblingWhat she loves most about teaching is using her sport-science lens to assess each student’s strengths and needs, then tailoring progressions—whether that’s modifying a skill or building targeted strength—to unlock safe, sustainable progress.

Who it’s for:

  • Absolute beginners (no experience needed)

  • Adults 16+ looking for a safe, structured start

  • Anyone keen to improve strength, mobility, and body awareness

What you’ll learn:

Foundations for safe progress: grips & holds, foot locks, climbs, basic sequences, and targeted conditioning (core, pulling strength, mobility). Progressions are tailored to your pace.

Class details:

  • When: Wednesdays, 6:30–7:30pm

  • Format: 4-week block (4 lessons)

  • Start date: Wednesday 15 October

What to wear & bring:

  • Fitted activewear that covers backs of knees/underarms (for comfort on fabric)

  • No zips, jewellery, watches, or lotions (they damage the silks)

  • Water bottle (optional small towel)

Policies:

  • No refunds. All bookings are final and non-refundable.

  • Missed classes are not transferable or credited.

  • Participants must follow coach instructions for safety; refusal may result in removal from the session.

Do I need upper-body strength?
No prior strength required — we build it progressively with safe, beginner-level drills.

I’m nervous about heights — is this suitable?
Yes. Beginners work at low heights with strong coaching support and crash-mat coverage.

We adhere to manufacturer working-load limits and best-practice safety factors. If you’re unsure, please contact us and we’ll advise privately.
