Teen & Adult Classes (16+)

Who it’s for:

  • For Absolute beginners (no experience needed) through to all levels and abilities

  • Teens & Adults 16+ looking for a safe, structured start

  • Anyone keen to improve strength, mobility, and body awareness 

Class Descriptions:

Mobility, Flexibility & Balance Class: A supportive class designed to improve mobility, strength, stability, body awareness and overall conditioning. Sessions focus on controlled movement, flexibility, balance and strength-building in a welcoming environment, making this a great option for beginners or anyone wanting to move better, feel stronger and build confidence in their body.

Aerial Classes: Build strength, flexibility, technique and confidence while learning aerial skills in a supportive environment. These classes are designed to help participants develop aerial foundations, body awareness and control while progressing through skills safely and at their own level. Foundations for safe progress: grips & holds, foot locks, climbs, basic sequences, and targeted conditioning (core, pulling strength, mobility). Progressions are tailored to your pace.     

Skills, Tricks and Movement Class: A class combining warm-up, mobility, conditioning and skill development on the Ape Escape gym floor. Using equipment such as bars, beams and more, participants will work on areas like balance, handstands, partner tricks, tumbling and body control in a supportive environment. A great class for those wanting to build strength, coordination, confidence and gym-based skills.

Foundations: Strength & Skills: A class focused on building strength, control and confidence through a mix of conditioning and skill-based training. Participants will work on foundational strength, body positioning, balance and coordination, helping to support progress in gymnastics-based skills, handstands and other movement work.

Term 3 Class Times (21st July – 26th Sep) :

Mobility, Flexibility & Balance Class

  • Tuesdays – 3:30pm – 4:30pm or  4:40pm – 5:40pm
  • Wednesday – 4:40pm – 5:40pm
  • Saturdays – 9:00am – 10:00am

Aerial Apparatus Classes (Silks/Hammock/ Lyra)

  • Wednesdays, 1:15pm – 2:15pm or 6:45pm – 7:45pm

Family-friendly note: If you have a child 4 years or under, they’re welcome to play on nearby equipment during the 1:15pm class. Please note: Ape Escape staff do not supervise children during this session — parents/guardians must actively supervise their child at all times.

Skills, Tricks & Movement

  • Thursday – 6:15pm – 7:45pm

Foundations: Strength & Skills

  • Tuesday – 5:50pm – 6:50pm

Cost:

Term Fee (10 week term) : $25 per lesson = $250

2 Classes Per Week for 10 weeks: $22.5 per class = $450 for the term

Trial / Casual class: $28

Multi-Class Package – 2 Classes Per Week:

Enrol in 2 weekly Teens & Adults classes for the full 10-week Term 3 block and receive our multi-class discount.

This package allows participants to book into 2 eligible weekly Term 3 class series for a total of $450.

Package details:

  • Valid for 2 weekly classes across the full 10-week Term 3 block
  • Applies to eligible Teens & Adults classes (16+ yrs) only
  • Package must be used for 2 ongoing weekly class series, not casual bookings
  • Casual / trial classes are booked separately
  • Subject to class availability

Once purchased, this package can be used to enrol in your chosen 2 weekly Term 3 classes.

What to wear & bring:

  • Aerial Classes:

    • Fitted activewear that covers backs of knees/underarms (for comfort on fabric)

    • No zips, jewellery, watches, or lotions (they damage the silks)

  • Water bottle (optional small towel)

Teen & Adult Class (16+) Policy:

  • Bookings are required prior to attending class.
  • Missed Classes:
    • If you are unable to attend a class, notice must be given prior to be eligible for a make-up session.
    • Missed classes may be made up within the same term in another eligible adult class offered at Ape Escape, subject to availability.
    • If you are unable to use the make-up session yourself, the missed class may also be used for your own child to attend one of our Casual Play or Toddler Play sessions within the same term.
    • All make-up classes are subject to availability, must be used within the current term, and cannot be carried over into future terms unless otherwise approved.
    • Missed classes are not refundable and are not redeemable for cash.
  • Adult participants take part at their own risk and should work within their own physical capacity at all times.
  • Please advise staff prior to participating if you have any injuries, medical conditions, pregnancy, hypermobility, or any other concerns that may affect your participation.
  • Suitable activewear must be worn.
  • Hair must be tied back and jewellery removed where required.
  • Ape Escape reserves the right to make changes to class instructors, programming, or timetables where necessary.
  • Participants must follow coach’s instructions for safety; refusal may result in removal from the session.

Dr Nicole Crisp: Wednesday Classes Aerial’s Instructor

Build strength, confidence, and beautiful lines in a supportive, beginner-friendly class taught by Dr. Nicole Crisp. Nicole is an experienced aerial performer and coach with a PhD in Exercise Physiology. She has an extensive physical background with 15+ years in Gymnastics and Sports Aerobics. Since 2016 she’s trained and taught across aerial disciplines at Kinetica (Malaga, WA)—covering silks (her specialty), lyra, trapeze, as well as ground-based handstands and tumblingWhat she loves most about teaching is using her sport-science lens to assess each student’s strengths and needs, then tailoring progressions—whether that’s modifying a skill or building targeted strength—to unlock safe, sustainable progress.

Natalia Rudman: Tuesday and Saturday: Mobility, Flexibility & Balance Classes, Thursday : Skills, Tricks & Movement Class

Natalia Rudman leads our Mobility, Flexibility & Balance classes. Natalia brings a unique blend of movement experience, technical knowledge and creativity to her classes at Ape Escape. With a background in contortion, Pilates, circus training and yoga, she is passionate about helping adults build flexibility, balance, strength and body awareness in a way that feels both challenging and accessible. Natalia studied at the Russian Circus School in the Russian Federation and has spent over 20+ years working within movement and coaching spaces. Her classes are designed to help people move more freely, feel stronger, and develop greater confidence and control in their bodies, no matter their starting point.

Do I need upper-body strength?
No prior strength required — we build it progressively with safe, beginner-level drills.

I’m nervous about heights — is this suitable?
Yes. Beginners work at low heights with strong coaching support and crash-mat coverage.

Is there a weight limit?
We adhere to manufacturer working-load limits and best-practice safety factors. If you’re unsure, please contact us and we’ll advise privately.

Health considerations?
If you have an injury, are pregnant, or have a medical condition, please seek guidance from your healthcare provider and let us know before class so we can tailor progressions.
